home_depot_logoP&G, with products like Mr. Clean and Bounty, is teaming up with The Home Depot to offer you some great tips and products to help you get ready for summer entertaining. Whether you’re planning a backyard barbeque or just freshening up your patio or deck, The Home Depot has the products you’ll need to help you get the most out of your outdoor living space this summer.

According to a recent P&G survey, only 25% of people clean their grills and only 20% of people clean their outdoor furniture. Yikes! But did you know that keeping them cleaned can help them last longer? Here are a few tips for getting your outdoor area ready for entertaining:

  • Maintain Your Outdoor Furniture: Keep it looking good all summer
  • Inspect your Deck: Give it good once over and check for loose nails, bricks, cracked concrete
  • Remove the Clutter: Clean up, power wash, remove unnecessary items and debris
  • Accessorize: Add in the little touches (i.e., plants, outdoor lighting, lanterns, centerpiece)
  • Clean your Grill: Give your grill a fresh start this season

Buy something new this summer, clean up your space, and have a fun (and clean!) summer entertaining space. And remember, The Home Depot is a one-stop-shop for purchasing P&G products, including Mr. Clean Outdoor Spray, Mr. Clean Outdoor Pro Magic Eraser, and Bounty.

Remove the Clutter is the most important tip above. It's important so that you keep the outside looking nice and never feel like cleaning is overwhelming.

On of mine is cleaning the grill. It helps to have a product that is made for this yukky chore!

Write names on the "red solo cups" so that people know their drink and don't go get another.

Hello, how are you? Thank you for this opportunity.  Good food to fill bad mouths solves a lot of problems. Leave the alcohol out of your gathering.

Often times women are trying to stay fit in the summer (hello summer shorts...), so at your BBQ make sure you also have healthy alternative to food and drinks just in case someone is working on it.

I compost, and it is a lot of work to turn it and put it under plants, but the birds and worms love to come to that party while I am placing it around the patio.  As you can see, I am a wild life lover.

Keep necessary cleaning materials in a deck box outside for quick access so your more likely to do it!

keep the gardening gloves near the door so if you have just a few minutes, can pull a few weeds in the flower bed or garden and keep hands clean and break the never ending job up into little bits. Also, put down newspapers between rows in the garden, they help keep the weeds away in the first place and eventually break down to be mulch.

Flies are a horrible problem with picnics.  Someone told me if you put a fan in the direction of the food, it will keep flies away.  Haven't tried this one yet but I plan on it!

Every year you have to do minor maintenance and upkeep on swing sets. Deal with rust or mildew, clean, tighten screws, and just make sure it is safe for the little fellers.

Since we spend most of the summer on the deck, inspecting it is most important.

I think inspecting the deck is important.  We always check for popped nails that someone could hurt their foot on.

We clean our outside furniture before we store it and when we bring it out for the year. If crummy weather is coming we put it in a covered area. Shocked that only 20 of people clean their furniture

My tip is that when you have a backyard get together have a garbage can out there so everyone can throw away there stuff when they are done with food/drinks it makes cleaning up so much faster

I like the tip to power wash the deck.  This would get rid of bugs and cobwebs too.
