I’d like to introduce you to a must-have product for every household which has been seen on the Today Show and even on Grey’s Anatomy! The Exergen Temporal Artery Thermometer is an infrared thermometer that captures temperature by scanning the heat that comes off the forehead via the temporal artery. It is non-invasive, easy-to-use, extremely accurate, and only takes 2 seconds!
No More Fuss!
This high-tech thermometer is a great tool that helps parents avoid the painful experience of taking their sick child’s temperature by mouth, underarm, or… elsewhere. You can even take your child’s temperature while he’s sleeping! As a parent, I appreciate any product that helps avoid the hassle of having to hold a fussy and sick child down long enough to get an accurate thermometer reading. With the Exergen Temporal Artery Thermometer, it merely takes two seconds and a gentle swipe across the forehead. Talk about convenience.
How it Works
As you gently glide the thermometer across the forehead crossing over the temporal artery, the sensor in its probe performs two processes. First it scans like a video camera, capturing naturally emitted infrared heat from the arterial blood supply at about 1000 “frames” per second, locking in the highest temperature it senses. Then, at the same time, a patented system measures the ambient temperature of the site where the temperature is being taken. The patented “arterial heat balance” (AHB) software then synthesizes the two separate readings to accurately determine and display body temperature.
My family and I have been sick for the past couple weeks. Instead of digging through the medicine cabinet for the standard thermometer (not to mention disinfecting it!), I just removed the protective cap from the Exergen Temporal Artery Thermometer, placed the thermometer on my forehead, pressed and held the button, and swiped it across my forehead. In about two seconds, I was able to see that I was running a fever of approximately 101. How easy was that?
For the second consecutive year, Pediatricians have ranked the Exergen Temporal Artery Thermometer #1. So much for the standard; bring on the technology! A new study has even shown that the Exergen Temporal Artery Thermometer is just as accurate as a rectal thermometer. And, it has been named “One of the Smartest Products of the Decade” by Inc. Magazine.
The Exergen Temporal Artery Thermometer is available in-store and online at Walmart, Babies R Us, Costco, Walgreens, Sams Club, Toys R Us, Rite Aid, BJs, and DrugStore.com. You can also save $5.00 via mail-in-rebate with this form.
