seoAlong with my Monetize Your Blog posts, I also wanted to provide you with my top 20 traffic sources each month. I use Google Analytics to track my blog traffic. Use this information however you wish, but hopefully it will give you an idea of how people find my blog, and potentially, your blog too!

January 2011 Report (displayed as source / medium and # of visits)

1. google / organic 3928 (this is just plain ole google search)
2. (direct) / (none) 1759 (people who type my URL in their browser)
3. feedburner / feed 947 (subscriber visits)
4. / referral 926 (another google search?)
5. / referral 435 (a giveaway posting site)
6. yahoo / organic 393 (another search engine)
7. bing / organic 312 (yet another search engine)
8. / referral 305 (and another search engine)
9. feedburner / email 200 (more subscriber visits)
10. rss / rss 181 (additional subscriber visits)
11. / referral 161 (we link to each other!)
12. / referral 136 (links from my FB page and from fan posts)
13. / referral 131 (I’ve just started using this)
14. twitter / twitter 96 (not surprised at all that FB > Twitter)
15. / referral 89 (we link to each other too!)
16. search / organic 87 (another search engine of some kind)
17. / referral 75 (Google Friend Connect)
18. / referral 64 (a giveaway posting site)
19. aol / organic 53 (aol search, I assume)
20. / referral 49 (Google Canada)

Since this is the first month I’ve posted this, it will be interesting to see how it changes next month. I really need to start working on getting my blog posted on other sites, but I’m not sure how to go about it. I’ll have to think about that one.

Until next month…
